  • Bring a bottle of water with you to poolside for training as you can get de-hydrated (thirsty) during training.
  • NO FIZZY DRINKS in bottles for training or galas. Water, still energy drinks or weak squash are the best things.
  • NO sweets/biscuits during galas - they will make you sick! Wait till you have finished swimming. If you really need some energy during the gala nibble a block of jelly or some energy sweets.
  • Pasta before a gala or training is very good for your energy levels - BUT eat at least 1 HOUR BEFORE SWIMMING.
